LG LTE Modem Granted Certification by Japan's TELEC
February 06, 2010
Korean LG announced on February 3 that the company's LD 100 LTE (Long Term Evolution) data modem, which is capable of offering data downlink speed of 100Mbps, has received certification from Japan's TELEC (Telecom Engineering Center), a certification authority designated by the Japan Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the Telecoms Korea reported on February 3. Obtaining the TELEC certification indicates that the LD 100 modem has passed a series of tests and is in compliance with technical regulations based on the Radio Law of Japan. Being the first of its kind to gain such certification, LG's LD 100Mbps LTE modem will be used by NTT DoCoMo, which is slated to conduct LET field tests soon in order to deliver the LTE service by year-end 2010.
